ILA Local 1414 hosts Halloween event to create safe space for families — Savannah Arts news

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1414’s President Paul Mosley Sr. said Saturday’s Halloween event was about creating a safe environment for the kids to enjoy the day.Chatham County Sheriff Richard Coleman was also at the event before attending the CCSO Fall Festival, and shared similar thoughts about providing a space for families to safely get candy and gather on Halloween.“The community is always going to be the key. The men and women of Local 1414, they are set on taking care of the community, and they asked me to put this on. This is the first time we’ve ever done it, and as you can see, it’s a success. We got hamburgers, we got hot dogs, we got cupcakes, and we got enough sugar where all the kids can end up at the dentist’s office on Monday morning,” said Mosley Sr.
